TECHNICAL SERVICE GRIEVANCES
Electrical devices are manufactured within specific sensitivities and operating limits. When these boundaries are exceeded, various malfunctions and damages can occur. Some devices may fail due to poor power quality, manufacturing defects, or environmental factors such as dust, humidity, and temperature, while others fail due to mechanical errors. Occasionally, damage occurs simply because the device has completed its economic lifespan; ultimately, every electrical device will experience a malfunction at some point during its use.
Why Do Technical Service Grievances Occur?
Electrical and electronic manufacturers, foreseeing the potential liabilities they might face, have established a worldwide standard: even if the maximum warranty period has not yet expired, the clause “grid-sourced problems are excluded from warranty” is written as an exemption in their warranty certificates.
In many regions, this exemption leads to significant consumer grievances. Technical services may report every problem the consumer experiences as being “grid-sourced,” even when it is not, to avoid performing free repairs under the manufacturer’s agreement. While a technical service center might earn a small fixed fee (e.g., 70-100 TL) for a warranty-covered repair, they can charge significantly more (e.g., 250-600 TL) when the repair is classified as out-of-warranty. This results in the consumer paying out of pocket for an expense that should have been covered.
The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) has imposed an obligation on electricity distribution companies to compensate consumers for damages, minus depreciation costs. Distribution companies, in turn, insure themselves against these potential losses through insurance providers to fulfill their obligations to informed consumers.
What Should Be Done to Avoid Victimization?
Trimbox prevents these grievances by providing protection on behalf of the manufacturer, the electricity distribution company, the insurance provider, and the consumer. In locations where a Trimbox is installed, grid-sourced electrical problems are eliminated. This not only protects the consumer’s equipment but also serves as an objective arbitrator between the technical service, the consumer, and the manufacturer.
If damage occurs in a facility where Trimbox is present, it is clear that the cause stems from factors other than grid fluctuations. In this regard, every party in the relevant sectors is protected, and responsibilities can be clearly identified without the need for lengthy and expensive litigation processes.
Simple precautions sometimes save lives. The best investment we can make for our family, our business, and our environment is protective measures. With Trimbox and GNDSeries, you can be protected from electricity-related damages and resulting electrical contact fires.
