HOW TO INSTALL A TRIMBOX?

One of the most frequent questions from Trimbox users, and especially from technical professionals such as electricians, security technicians, and plumbers, is where, how, and at what power capacities Trimbox installation should be performed…

In its most general form, Trimbox installation is performed at the output of a circuit breaker up to 1000A, or at the output of a residual current device (RCD) depending on the model, using 2.5 mm² cross-section NYAF or TTR cables.

One of the most important things to note is that Trimbox installation must absolutely be carried out by an experienced professional, such as an electrical technician, engineer, or a certified master electrician.

Another point is that if you are performing an installation in a commercial facility, this process must be conducted in coordination with the facility’s authorized electrical supervisor.

Materials to be used for installation:

1- Voltage tester (test pen),

2- Phillips head screwdriver,

3- 2.5 mm² cross-section multi-strand power cable and a sufficient number of needle-nose cable lugs will be adequate.

When you proceed to the installation stage:

1- Connect 2.5 mm² multi-strand TTR or NYAF cables to the L1, L2, L3, neutral, and ground inputs of the Trimbox. Use needle-nose cable lugs for the connections.

2- Fix the cables securely by tightening them sufficiently with a Phillips head screwdriver so they do not slip out of their slots.

3- Check that the connection is secure by gently pulling the cables you have fixed.

4- Open the electrical panel.

5- Cut off the power from the main circuit breaker.

6- Use the voltage tester to verify whether there is electricity at the outputs of the main circuit breaker.

7- Create a suitable space inside the panel for the Trimbox.

8- First, make the ground connection, then the neutral connection.

9- Loosen the outputs of the main circuit breaker and insert the cables coming from the Trimbox phases into the slots along with the main circuit breaker’s output cables, then tighten them. Perform this process one by one and in order to avoid mixing up the output cables of the breaker.

10- Check your phase, neutral, and ground connections one last time.

11- After this process, you can switch on the power from the main circuit breaker. The green LEDs indicating that Trimbox is operational will light up.

12- End the installation by closing the panel properly.
