Is it easier to create something or to criticize it? Or which one is more valuable?

Creating something is, of course, very valuable. But observing its missing or faulty aspects and providing constructive criticism is at least as valuable. Because a product or service only finds its true value and moves toward perfection thanks to those who strengthen it with constructive criticism.

However, constructive criticism is difficult. According to our company constitution, making mere criticism is strictly forbidden and is grounds for termination of employment. Constructive criticism, on the other hand, is free to the end. In other words, it is forbidden to say “this didn’t work,” but it is completely free to say “it would be better if it were like this.”

Because constructive criticism requires knowledge, observation, analysis, effort, time, experience, experimentation, and most importantly, good intentions.

Criticism, on the other hand, is simple. You just say “it didn’t work” and move on. It contains arrogance, envy, disrespect for effort, and worst of all, malice.

But as we see, in our beautiful country, declaring opinions on every subject without having knowledge is considered very valuable. Of course, people have freedom of thought, and not everyone has to like everything. But how can a person be considered valuable just through partisanship, without doing anything or adding any value?

This state of “valuableness,” which consists only of deceiving oneself, is known and observed by society, even if that person is unaware of it. My late father used to say: “If work is being done somewhere, there will certainly be mistakes; if there are no mistakes, there is no work.”

The sole and unconditional condition for a society to rise is production. Nowadays, production alone is not enough; value-added production is required. The key to value-added production is being original.
